Merry Dorfmas!
Im back and the schedule is back as well (Sunday begins the new season).
Each of your characters has a Present left for them around the Still.
They are wrapped in Paper and Bows. They Menace with Cheer.

Spring (503) is Upon you! Gain another level in a skill or a new skill!

McBoom heads to the still and open the paper. She has found a Shiny New Steel Mug. It has a picture of a Goblin and a Dwarf on it. The Goblin is Pleading. The Dwarf is Laughing. There are four other presents, titled 'Ironshield,' 'Skiffens,' 'p'Weeze,' and ''Tob.'

Skizzen's is now at a base of a large mound. The whole thing is surrounded by a large ditch, and trees weave along the sides to form a fence. A trio of large stone pillars are visible from the base, meaning they must be immense in size. There are three more elves in view now. They wear heavy robes of green and blue. On them twist images of Elves and Demons. The Elves are fleeing, the Demons striking one down with a Silver Hammer.

p'Weeze begins building a bridge, but realizes a need for mateiral. Luckily, he has a large chunk of stone from digging into the hill, and build a stone bridge with it. Which direction will it face? Making it a drawbridge will take a lever and two gears.

Ironsheild, with his mind overcome by fever, begins a grand vision. He retreats into the fortress, dragging the anvil, the donkey, and the 4 dead groundhogs. He goes in and barricades himself into the Lever Room. There is a squeak, a crunch, then the rhythmic pounding of stone on steel.

Timmy finishes the setting up of the still, and celebrates with a wheel of cheese.

No sign of Tob and Irrum.

The Caravan is approaching from Brightmoose.

The human tower is receiving reinforcements. A Lasher and a Spearmen glare at Hammerhat, then rush inside.

Skiffens mounts the mount with increased vigor to see the top.

P'weeze curses the short coming of levers before going over to the bucket to mine out gears and a lever from the sturdy thing.

Hey guys!
Well, as noted elsewhere, three out of four of the players here have lost their internet for an unknown amount of time. As such, the world of Dwarf fortress will be temporarily suspended in lime gelatin until things change.
Don't worry, we will be back. And Dwarf Fortress has a pause option, so all creatures from that world can survive prolonged hibernations.
Until then, update your chars and I will work on the Uplift Campaign. Hope to see you all back soon.

With a shattering jiggle, and a series of om noms, the jello is lifted.
Delicious, everything ate and drank for the year, so no worries about that. Also,

So, Skiffens and P'weeze have their orders laid out, while the gods wait for the fair replies of McBOOM and Ironsheild.
Nest season starts on Sunday!

Summer (503) has arrived!

Mole and p'Weeze hammer out some cogs with fists and snot. Shenanigans just got REAL! You now a working drawbridge. Name that sucka and tell me what direction it faces!

You now have a moat surrounding you and a drawbridge. You are much safer.

McBOOM is overcome with a wave of awe as the beer comes out. You'll need containers, though, but you empty the contents into the barrels and the bucket. Next batch will need more stuff.

Timmy goes out to greet the merchants, who set up next to the still. This year they have more armor and weapons, some beer and some food. They also are followed by two new migrants, a dwarf named Shurg. He wears a mechanic's plov on his hat. He worries his hat between his hands, and shuffles to work in the lever room. Finding it barred, he goes to help on the bridge.
The other is Pais, a miner with a shining steel helm and candle. Her large eyes often cross. She trots in to start a stairwell.

Ironsheild has reached a new level of frenzy! This is the final stage before he is lost to the Gods forever!
He grabs the steel pick and the cat, rushes back, and begins a frenzied chant. There is a sickening thud, then a bizarre crackling reverberates from behind the door.
You think you can hear... chuckling?

Skiffens reaches the top of the hill fort. Amid twisting vines and thorns is a small square of shelters. Fine silks form walls, and heavy tarps make roofs. About a half dozen elves watch you warily.
In the center of the town is a depression, from which twist out the stone arms in a long spiral. In the center of the dark, moss eaten stone rises a stone plinth, bloodstain obvious on it. On it is strapped the goblin. He makes a plaintive gesture.
The druid slip into your hand an Obsidian Dagger and nods.
The stone tells story. The stone waits eagerly.

The humans in the tower are now doing something. The two swordsmen and the maceman rush out with pontoons and planks. They are making a pontoon bridge to the island with the Western Twin! They take the island and put a flag on it, naming the island Water's Bastion. In the distance men are driving oxen to the tower. The oxen pull carts.

P'weeze dubs the drawbridge "Fore sken of Oblivion" that faces south.
P'weeze scoops up mole and heads back for a happy drink before heading back to make a second moat of defense out side the first moat....maybe use lava if it shows up. Wait fill it with boiling water of doom!

Skiffens looks at a the dagger then at the goblin before shruging and plunging the dagger in to goblin.

Fall (503) has arrived.

With a cackle and a crunch the lever room door explodes.
Ironshield has gone berserk.
Ironshield has crafted the Damned Staccato, a Steel Golem.
It is made to the finest craftdwarfship, made of Steel and Animal Bone. It takes the form of a twisted jungle cat, beware its deadly poison!
It is decorated with images, daubed in Ironshield's blood. It commemorates the creation of the 'Wailing Cudgel' in Winter (501). Ironshield holds a pizza, and is biting it viciously. He is surrounded by Demons. The Demons are approving.
The Damned Staccato charges out of the Fort. The Damned Staccato attacks the Caravan Guard. The Damned Staccato has Iron claws (+1), Iron Skin (+1), is a terrifying beast (+1), and is an Accomplished Fighter (+3). The Caravan Guard, Risrick, is armed with a Steel Hammer (+1), an Iron Shield (+1), an Iron Helm (+1), and is a Skilled Fighter (+2). Beaten 4 to 6, Risrick is smashed in the leg and takes a wound. He only has one more left.
Ironshield attacks Timmy, throwing the Still at him. Ironshield has thrown a weapon, has an Iron Shield (+1), a Steel Helmet (+1), is Berserk (+1), and is a Novice fighter (+1). Timmy does not have armor (-1), does have a Steel Axe (+1), is a Novice Fisherbold (+1), but is being being bombarded (-2). Timmy loses -1 to 4, being smashed in the arm and losing a wound. He has two more, and flees.
Ironshield is now a locked character. Only thing that can be changed now is his history.

The Merchant flees, leaving behind his Goods. Pais and Shurg flee with him. They head North to Brightmoose.

McBOOM and p'Weeze are discussing barrels when all hell breaks loose. Mole is crying. They are far enough from the fight to not be targeted yet.

The Humans hide behind the Western Twin, fearing this sight. The Tower disgorges its Archer, and the wagoneers move faster.

The Goblin curses, then shudders, his blood beginning to float and swirl. The elves begin singing.
Isslen is awakening.

You have no Inventory! An enemy has seized them. Curse them!

Everyone note that in Fall (503), Hammerhat fell. It can be reclaimed. All survivors are now called the 'Invisible Jeers' until they either found a new fort or reclaim one.

P'weeze cancels action with McBOOM to ready bridge to pull back and obliterating the first threat on it.

Erk having sudden regrets backs away with said bloody dagger and edges towards the forest.

A feeling of GM guilt and player Euphoria washes over the land. (I'm late, so you all benefit.)
The next season comes this upcoming sunday.

McBOOM gets two rocks, and now has a sparker. She uses them. She has a bundle of grass, which holds embers. You have !!Fire!!

p'Weeze readies the drawbridge after the Merchant, Pais, and Shurg cross to safety. Mole keeps the gears greased with Tears. Across the river, you hear a human voice calling out to you. He is trying to communicate, but doesn't speak dwarven languages.

Skiffens hurries around the elves, but they don't move to stop her. The Stone is Twisting into a Ball. The Goblin is melding with the Stone and the Vines. Blood makes runes. You are at the base of the hillfort, confronted by the elf, Longstride. His green eyes burn for a moment, then his form warps. Before you stands a huge wolf, with green eyes. He lays down, grumbling. He can carry you out of the forest, but only if he can come with you.

Winter (503) is upon you!

Looks like everybody rested! A +1 for you this week!

The Damned Staccato continues fighting Risrick. The Damned Staccato has Iron claws (+1), Iron Skin (+1), is a terrifying beast (+1), and is an Accomplished Fighter (+3). The Caravan Guard, Risrick, is armed with a Steel Hammer (+1), an Iron Shield (+1), an Iron Helm (+1), and is a Skilled Fighter (+2). Risrick loses, 4 to 6. He is smashed over the head, bruising the brain. He give in to pain.
He will die unless helped within a year. His first target gone, he throws Risrick at Timmy. The Damned Staccato has Iron Claws (+1), Iron Skin (+1), is a terrifying beast, and is an accomplished fighter (+3). Timmy does not have armor (-1), does have a Steel Axe (+1), is a Novice Fisherbold (+1), but is being being struck from range (-2). Timmy loses 2 to 6. His leg is crushed, and he now flees over the drawbridge. The Damned Staccato follows, and is now on the drawbridge.
Ironshield hears the babble of the humans, and runs to the river's edge, screaming. The Human Archer, Fisark, crests the hill and opens fire with his Oak Bow. Ironshield has an Iron Hammer (+1), an Iron Shield (+1), a Steel Helmet (+1), is Berserk (+1), and is a Novice fighter (+1), but is being fired at (-2). Fisark has fired his weapon, is wearing a Leather Coat (+1), and is a Novice Fighter (+1). Fisark loses 2 to 3. He takes a wound, losing an eye to the dwarf's intense glare. He falls down the hill, cursing. Ironshield screams and tears up grass.

The Merchant and the Guard give you all a glare and limp back towards Brightmoose. The humans send north the two Swordsmen to mirror where they head. Pais and Shurg seem to be debating whether to stay or leave.

What is your next move?

(Starting to get baffled with that the hell is going on)
P'weeze, indicates McBoom should take the lever and goes across for an attempt to save the poor Risrick. Or drag his body back across the bridge in hopes of luring.

Skiffens gratefully takes the talking elf wolf's offer and says, "Yah! Mah base is that way." Skiffens points in the direction of the base and mounts up on the wolf elf.

McBOOM throws the fire pack into the Forgotten Beast, which bursts into flame. Maddened with pain, it stalls on the drawbridge. With a crack and a crunch, the Drawbridge lifts with deadly force, shattering the Damned Staccato into a thousand, fiery pieces. Note you struck down the Damned Staccato in Winter (503).

p'Weeze tries to revive Risrick, but the maddened Ironsheild tackles him to the ground. However, Timmy jumps on Ironsheild's back and starts hacking frantically with his axe. Ironsheild is beserk (+1), has a Iron Hammer (+1), an Iron Shield (+1), a steel Helmet (+1), and is a Novice Fighter (+1). p'Weeze has no weapon (-1) but has an Iron Helmet (+1), is a Master Miner (+3), and was rested (+1). Timmy has a Steel Axe (+1), has no armor (-1), and is a Novice Fisherbold (+1). Timmy and p'Weeze win 5 to 4. Ironsheild is smashed across the back, breaking the spine. Ironsheild gives into pain, and will dies in Winter (503). Please note the kill Timmy and p'Weeze.

Skiffens and the Werewolf flee the forest as it goes dark, the roots writhing around them as something rises from the hillfort. An elf nearby tries to flee, but is caught and cruched in a tree's twisting branches. You see sunlight, but only in the distance.

A feeling of Euphoria washes over the camp. An extra turn before Sunday.
I will assume Skiffens will flee the forest with her turn, and that p'Weeze will save Risrick.

Timmy keeps hacking at the body, screaming. He may some help, as he seems to be having a tantrum.

You have recovered Hammerhat! Harrah!

Skiffens urges the wolf on wards, as they hold on for dear life. "to the light of fuzzy one!"

P'wezze greatly alarmed by the violence revives the fallen dwarf and then attempts to calm the Poor kobold shaped dwarf with soothing words of beer back at base.

Spring (504) is upon you.
Everyone gets a new experiance level. A new class of Potter will be made soon.

With a roar and a burst of leaves, Skiffens and the werewolf burst free from the forest. From inside the canopy, unnatural sounds emanate, a harsh cackle and wailing cry.

To this, the humans run away! They abandon their gear and their far tower, wailing and crying as they disappear from sight. They left behind a great deal of loot, but it is on the other side of the river.

With that, Pais and Shurg follow the Merchant and Guard and head back to Brightmoose. You will likely not have any immigrants for a time. Brightmoose itself is unlikely to send out anyone for a while as well.

p'Weeze revives Risrick, who swears loyalty to Hammerhat, and joins your motley crew.

Skiffens and the werewolf reach Hammerhat in record time, and the werewolf collapses to the ground, gasping for air. Longstride has joined your motley crew.

McBOOM flicks the lever to keep Hammerhat safe in its own moat and disperses the remaining bits of the beast, leaving iron scrap everywhere. How collectible.

Due to a combo of player participation and GM lateness, your extra actions are granted.

McBOOM goes over and finds the wrecked Still. It will take a season to repair, so it will be ready next post.

Skiffens pats the werewolf's head, which seems to revive it a bit. Longstride begins to collect the Iron Scraps.

p'Weeze calms down Timmy, who stops hacking the body and instead goes to hack some tree. You will need wood for beds and barrels.

Risrick goes about looking for a forge, seeing there is none, he goes into the hill to dig down.
