This is Dorf Fort!

After many days travel, you have come to rest near the Bouldercrook Mountains. A charming valley lies before you, but you are almost out of supplies. The maps say that this is Hammerhat, named for the fish-shaped rocks found in its river. This will be a great land to start a new home.

Hammer hat is a river valley that has hills to its north, a river that runs right down it, and woods to its south. By the compass, you know that there are dwarves to the North in the mountains, distant kinsmen to yourself. Contact is preferable. To the West lies a small human kingdom, the Shapeless Pointings. Contact is possible. South lays the dark forest of the Unhappy Sideways. Some say elves live there. To the East lays the badlands of the Lush Lush of Lushing, were there is said to be a failed dwarven settlement and a beast's lair! Once your fortress is running, mayhaps you can send out explorers...

In Hammarhat, there is the River Boilingsalad running North to South, and a stream that breaks to the South-West of it, the Nobs. At where the river forks is a bifurcated hill, the Lonely Twins, in the Center and East. The Eastern Twin is near to your broken wagon, the Donkey no longer able to pull its wobbly wheels. The Central Twin seems more craggy, but you must cross the mighty river to get to it. Around you is a sparse growth of trees and plentiful plants. In the river swim flashing fins. In the plants graze wildlife.

-Ten loaves of Bread.
-Five Wheels of Cheese.
-Fifteen Barrels of Ale.
-A Bronze Bucket.
-A steel Axe.
-A steel Pick.
-A bronze Horn.

Some Migrants have Arrived!
Pickslayer, the Unhermit. He has Gained a Silver Stamp for being the First Dwarf. It stamps with Rightness!
Skiffens, the Miser of Minks. He has gained an Oaken Bed for Choosing Option Five. It weighs with Slumber!
Strike the Earth!

Each week, a season passes. I'll post the due dates for each weeks actions. All nonposters are idlers.
Brevity is the truest form of Wit! This game is not meant to be serious or complicated. Actions should only take a sentence or three. Mopers will be fed to the Carp!

Spring, 501 (finishes on 10/17)
The Party has just lost the last wheel to their wagon. Being sent by the King of the Mountainhomes, you are now in a far off land to start a new colony in the name of Higher Scrappings! The nearby dwarves of Brightmoose will send traders, as agreed before, every summer. You don't need a translator (Broker) for them.
As loyal Scrappers, you are expected to build a lovely outpost. Or at least send back treasure.
Near your wagon, you hear the chitter of Groundhogs.
In the distance, you spy a pack of loping shapes to the South. They spin circles about themselves, braying.
You hear singing from the North, on the other side of the hill.
Far from the East drifts a smokey smell. A chill wind blows from there for a fleeting moment.
From the West, you can see a watchtower of human design. Sadly, you must cross the river and stream somehow before you can explore that direction.

Some Migrants have arrived!
Ironshield, the Long Smiting.
McBOOM, the Liquid Stanzas. She gains the Statue 'Running Crack' for choosing Option 5. The statue is of a Plant surrounded by Dwarves. The Plant is making a Plaintive Gesture. The Dwarves are Laughing!

Next Season, they can make their next moves to their posts. For now, both have charged North, one wielding a Cat, the other guzzling Ale.

North of the hill lies an unnamed field. Ironshield can name it under Dwarven Tradition. Please keep it silly.

North along the river, a Kobold fishes. At hearing the mighty warcry from Ironshield, it twists to see a mighty host of a pair of dwarves bearing down in it. Stopping its song, and terrified by the great glint of beards and ale froth, the craven thief is fleeing! Curse Him!
He is fast enough to keep out of your pace baring a brilliant scheme. However, he has left some loot along the river.
For now, though, the Kobold cries and yells while running Northeast. In the distance you see several mud huts in the Northeast.

P'weeze carves a room out of the face of the Eastern Twin. As there is no hallway, it is more a covered patio, but at least you are now out of the rain. And a fine patio it is, away from that fire-orb of the Sun. No worries, you can wall it up later. Inside the outer hill, you find mud and soil.

Skiffens does battle with the Groundhog ShortSniffle!
Skiffins has a Crossbow (+1), is wearing Leather Armor (+1), and is a Novice in Ranger (+1). He has a total of 3.
Shortsniffle if being shot at (-2), is caught be surprise (-2), and has no weapons (-1), even if he is a Novice Ranger (+1). He totals -4. Shortsniffle take a bruise to his left eyetooth, skewing the brain.
He gives into Pain! (Will die in 502, Spring if unhelped.)
At this, his fellow groundhogs rally! Three fierce groundhogs charge Skiffems! Curse them! They will fight next season.

Everyone has been satisfied at work recently!
All members in the party have done their tasks. An extra action is just reward for their hard work!

Enraged by the escaping kobold Hammer looks for somthing to throw. He sees Hops. He attempts to throw Hops at the retreating kobald.

Ironsheilds seizes McBOOM, hurling her with vigor at the fleeing Kobold Krastinglic. McBOOM strikes the Kobold with McBOOM.
Ironsheilds has armor (+1) but no weapon (-1) do to Dwarves not holding an edge. He is a Novice Warrior (+1) for a total of +1.
Kranstinglic has no armor (-1), but does have a Bronze Dagger (+1). However, he is being attacked from afar (-2) even if he is a Novice Fisherbold (+1). His Total is -1.
Ironsheild by extension of McBOOM cracks Krastinglic's skull, shaking the Brain! He gives into the Pain and makes Plaintive Gestures. (He will die in 502, Spring if not helped).
McBOOM still has an action.
IronShield still has to name the Northern Field.

-Smiles happily as she dust her self off and grabs Kobold Krastinglic by the ankle,gathers the cat back up and goes and gathers his dropped loot
-She heads back to the camp very happy after getting the loot and looks at Kobold Krastinglic "Your my new taste tester! I'll call you Timmy! Hold Sir Pounce-alot." hands him the cat as she drags him

Skiffems has engaged the trio of groundhogs, the Brothers Skimm! They are legendary for their battle prowess.
Its awful. To make it short, each add -1 to the combat as they flail about without Weapons or Armor and only a modicum of talent in Ranger. For a whopping grand total of -3, they fall on each other's feet and are Booted Mercilessly by the mighty Skiffems!
The Brothers Skimm give into Pain!
Gigli, Ponk, and Toodles will die in Spring 502 unless helped.

The cat Sir Pouncelot has Adopted McBOOM!

The captve Kobold gurgles and whimpers as she drags him to the Burrow for treatment. After imbibing some curative tinctures, the Kobold Krastinglic has become a servant of McBOOM! He celebrates with Handful of Cereal from inside his Loincloth. You have an NPC! His stats will appear in the OOC shortly.
McBOOM receives Loot. It includes:
-A Stick with String and a Bone Hook
-A Clay Bowl
-Apple Filled with Worms

Krastinglic has a Wool Sock. Krastinglic seems lost without it. He wears it over his right ear if given it. He also bears a Dirty Piece of Parchment with Dwarven Writing! It is a letter to the Abandoned Dwarven Settlement to the East, from the King of the Mountain Homes. However, the Bottom Half is Missing. Krastinglic says he found it in the Human Town, but they tried to eat him.
Krastinglic is obviously overexaggerating.

Ironsheild GLARES at the Kobold Camp, and sees that there are still a few of the pests in amid the Mud Hovels. Two male Kobolds with Spears and Sheilds hang back, chittering. An elderly one with a Club and Funny Hat is barking orders to the four Females, four Children, and one Baby.

In the Distance a Caravan from Brightmoose approches. They will arrive in Summer. They seem to be followed by a Dwarven Woman on a Donkey.

The Kobold Camp is in a Frenzy! One Spearbold grads his two Mates and three of his Children. They Flee East. The second Spearbold holds his ground. The two remaining Females now carry Bone Daggers, and one carries the two Children. The Ancient in the Funny hat stay near the remaining Spearbold, while the Baby claims a tree to swing in.
The Baby is Laughing.

From the East come nothing but smoke and silence.

The Human Tower in the West waves a flag as the Dwarven Caravan is spotted.

The Figures to the south continue to bray and play.

Skiffims, note down your Victories over the Natural World.
Ironsheild, note down your Victories over Gravity. Also, your Thirst has been Quenched for this year!
McBoom, note down your loot, you new cat, and your servent. He moves at your behest.
P'weeze, note down your patio and name it with pride! Also, your Thirst has been Quenched for this year!

Finally, tweaking the rules for Dwarven Psychology soon. Simply put, all post, all get extra turn. Never post, go mad and make weird things. Its a trade off.

Hammer realizes he is thirsty once more after his battle. He wants more beer. To get back to camp he would have to cross that "God'sawful" field. No, too far. Maybe there is beer in those huts. Hammer charges the huts to see if they will give up their beer.

A feeling of Euphoria washes over the camp for a job well done. An extra action is deserved!

Timmy accepts the beard with Pride! He sets out to find what he needs for a still, grabbing the Steel Axe from the Inventory for his own. He goes out to give the trees a good whacking, but will take a while as he is unskilled (will take two seasons). McBOOM finds a handful of GooseBerries in the field east of the Eastern Twin, good for wines and soothing ointments. She spies a figure in the Eastern badlands, dragging a Cart behind him. A Halberd is clearly visible in the figure's outline. He heads Southwest.

p'Weeze burrows into the hill further, a wonderful hallway that can accommodate an addition to either side and to the end. He still is hitting mostly mud, but also finds a Boulder of Mudstone. That is added to the Pile. Skiffens brings in her bounty to the Pile. To the South, she spots the dancing figures are receding into the Forest. The central figure stands up and signals into the trees before disappearing from view.

Ironshield charges into battle on the God'sawful Field! The Spearbold Listib and the Macebold Veteran Almar'isjat hold their ground and join in the fight.
Ironshield has an Iron Hammer (+1), Metal Armor (+1) and an Iron Sheild (+1). He is a Novice Fighter (+1), but the Spear bold is chucking his Stone Spear (-2), for a total of +2.
Spearbold Listib is no longer with a weapon (-1), but still has a Wooden Sheild (+1). His lack of Armor (-1) is countered by his Novice Skill (+1) for a total of 0.
Almar'isjat Charges! He strikes with his Club (+1) and uses his Skilled Macebold training (+2) to counter his lack of armor (-1) for a total of +2. The Kobolds +2 ties Ironshield's +2. The fight continues another season!
The Spearbold flees! Female Kobolds to pack a few things then flee. The Kobold Camp of Bosk is Abandoned!
The Kobold Baby wanders West into the Dwarven Caravan. The Merchants pick it up and decide it would make a grand pet. It is added to the heap of Sellable Goods. The Merchants head for the patio, as it is a fine place to do business.

Take your turns quick, as the deadline is Sunday!

Summer (501) is Upon You!

Ironshield and Almar'isjat continue their battle!
Ironshield hold a Hammer (+1) and Shield (+1), wears Armor (+1), and is a Novice in Arms. He has a total of +4.
Almar'isjat is a Skilled Macebold (+2) with a solid club (+1), but has no armor (-1). He has a total of +2. Ironshield wins!
Almar'isjat takes a wound, but has two more. A mighty blow of Ironshield's Hammer breaks Almar'isjat's Left Leg, sending him tumbling to the ground. He has dropped his Obsidian Greatclub. He Pleads for his life, making a Plaintive Gesture. Until healed he can only crawl (movement takes a season). He will heal in Summer 502 unless helped.

The Kobold Camp of Bosk is yours! Their inventory is being added to your own. Praise the Warriors!
Ironshield can name the battle and enter it in his history.
p'Weeze, as expedition leader, can rename the town.

McBOOM hails the stranger, who bows and presents himself as Cholke, Goblin Broker. He wears a Iron Helmet and Iron Breastplate, bearing in his claws a Iron Halberd. He wishes to sell his Wares with the Elves, which he reveals on his Cart. In his cart is three dead bodies, one Dwarf Male and two Goblin Males. The Dward looks to be a Axedwarf, while the Goblins look to be a Bowgob and a Swordgob.
Cholke tells you that the Elves in the South love the taste of Sentient Meats and is off to trade. For safe passage, he is willing to give you the belongings of the Dwarf. Otherwise, he gives a smile with his Crooked Teeth and awaits McBOOM's reply.
By Dwarven Tradition, McBOOM can name the Eastern Badlands.

The Trade Caravan from Brightmoose has arrived. p'Weeze and Skiffens can trade with them (talking doe not take a season). They begin unpacking their goods for view. They will leave in the Winter. They bear:
-5 wheels of Dwarven Cheese
-10 barrels of Dwarven Ale
-10 loaves of Bread
-A fine Marble Statue of a Rabbit
-A Kobold Baby
-2 Steel Swords
-A Steel Pick
-A Fancy Silk Hat with Feathers

Irrum, the Slanted Parable. She rides on her pet Donkey Tob.
Irrum head to the Badlands in the East to begin farming. She takes a season to hack the hard soil into rows, and waters them carefully with her bucket. She is careful to never touch a drop of water herself.
Tob patiently stands besides her, devouring weeds and making fertilizer.

Skiffens and p'Weeze took a short break, but work calls them again with the new season.
